Posted this originally on Instagram near the New Moon at the end of November, 2022, but I haven't shared here in ages, and this one is dear to me.

Look at the difference ❤️

I know technically Autumn ends with the Winter Solstice on December 21, in the North 🍁. But Winter in Canada is impatient. While it doesn't begin the journey of bringing the Sun back until Dec 21, it starts sharing the light via its snow, covering the ground, well before ❄️.

While the other Seasons are known for celebrating the Sun and it's light in some way, Autumn is the one that invites us to slow down and rest in the soft, cozy womb of the #feminine #dark.

The dark is a safe space. Religion and politics (ironically) have aligned darkness with evil, but the dark in its origins is a safe space -- as is our divine, intrinsic #shadow (different from toxicity or the absence of well-being). The dark is a safe, protected space where life begins and grows before it enters the starkness, sometimes harshness and noise, of scrutinizing light. And what is born of the dark feminine womb is able to thrive in the light, because it has had that time to grow and develop first in the loving, safe, quiet space of the dark. ❤️

It is uncomfortable because we have been taught to run from what is within, from the dark and ourselves, to fear the unknown and the uncertain, but the absolute calm you'll find there when you release fear and really feel into it, is absolutely healing. 🌒❤️🌺

May you be healed and find wholeness within, as Autumn winds down, so that the stark beauty of Winter, with its light below (snow) and then later above (Sun, longer days) brings delight in what you've released and created in the beautiful dark of Autumn.

Remember, neither in absolute dark nor in absolute light, are we able to see. We need both. 🌒🌕🌘🌑☀️
